Childhood- The time when life used to be simple yet magical. Kids born in the 90s know how changed everything is right now.
It was a matter of great importance to us that we watch cartoons during breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The morning episodes of Gali Gali Sim Sim and evening episodes of Tom and Jerry after coming from school, cannot be compared to the new age stuff kids these days watch. You can’t deny it, 90s cartoons were in a whole different mood. Remember Oswald? the friendly and gentle octopus whose adventures we would enjoy watching. Noddy? The Richie rich kid we always dreamed of being. Pink Panther, Scooby-Doo, Duck tales, Mickey Mouse the clubhouse and so many other great cartoons we were privileged to watch!
There are numerous reasons for it. The main reason that we all can relate is the depression factors that we take in. It’s surprising and the same happens with cartoons in India. We have come up with the list of cartoons in India which these legends are engrossed at watching!
Tom & Jerry
Started 5 decades ago, this cartoon has made it to history when it comes to entertaining kids. And needless to say that the fight of Tom & Jerry hasn’t spared the adults as well. Tom and Jerry holds the first position in the list of best cartoons in India. This show has been entertaining us for the last 50 Years. The Story of this show revolves around a Cat and a Mouse who always fights with one another. This show was started in 1940 in Black white then became famous all over the World. This show is very old but it will remain forever not only for kids but also for adults. It is indeed every 90’s most popular cartoons.
Noddy
Aa gaya Noddy, NODDY! with an altogether different happiness into your lifes, Noddy made entry into our days with his plane and there we went singing the whole song along like a ritual or the perfect way to watch Noddy. We believed the sun doesn’t rise until we heard a rooster crowing every morning (even though that never happened in real life) to bagpipes really making a magical appearance in our real lives — such was the innocence. And when our parents would ask us to switch TVs, there we went chanting Noddy’s habit of repeating words — “mai dekhunga, dekhunga, dekhunga” (you could add moving your head back and forth with that cute bell to your imagination.)
Dragon Tales
Who else wished to have a dragon scale and randomly disappear to a land of dragons in the absence of our parents? Wouldn’t deny trying the “Mai Chahu, mai chahu…” mantra in real life either. It was indeed a relief watching the two worlds combining, as we watched Max and Emmy roam around the entire Dragon Land sitting on the back of our favourite dragons. Ord, Wheezie, zak oh my god how nostalgic we all feel after hearing those names.
Mr. Bean
Mr. Bean, we all know his name. This is famous not only among children but also in Adults. Mr Bean is introduced into two versions of Show. The first is a TV Series and the second one is in the Animated Series. You can watch this amazing show on POGO TV. The show presents the life and funny activities of Mr. Bean; this person makes people Laugh without speaking a word.
Charlie Chaplin
Charlie Chaplin, the name that can make your life awesome and full of laughs. In this show, you see a man with a budget-friendly soup-strainer and black hat. He can make any boring person laugh; these are kids by the way. Everyday activities are presented in a hilarious way that makes your kid a fan of it.
Popeye
All we thought that was needed to be strong within a second was spinach. Yes, that’s what we learnt from Popeye the sailor man (whistle whistle) . We saw a pinch of romance with Olive and fighting all the odds, especially Bluto with just a box of spinach (and the pipe wouldn’t fall even when he’d open his mouth to eat the goddamn thing). You realise the level of innocence now, don’t you?
It is always said that childhood is the best time of our lives, and these cartoon shows helped us create memories that we will forever have in our hearts.
